Unfortunately, IWR is contacted regularly regarding Weims that are in immediate danger of being euthanized. Due to the limited number of foster families we have, and the large number of Weims in grave need of placement, we try to keep our foster homes open for Weims in critical need of temporary placement.
We ask that all owner surrenders are up to date on shots and spayed/neutered. Upon contacting us, a volunteer from our rescue will make every attempt to come to your home and evaluate your Weim. This evaluation allows IWR the opportunity to view your dog in an environment he/she is comfortable in, and offer some suggestions, with the hopes that you will be willing to foster him/her until an approved forever family is found.
While we do prefer the owner surrender foster the Weim until a new home is available, we will work with you through this process, and review each owner surrender form on a case by case basis.
