I am a new rescue volunteer, having joined the IWR family three months ago. I help transport Weims coming into rescue to their foster families.
I have loved the breed since I met my first Weimaraner while working at a veterinary clinic in high school. I have adopted two rescue Weimaraners, and now I want to do what I can to help displaced and homeless Weims find great forever families.
I have two Weims, a male and a female, both adopted from rescues but at different times and from different organizations. They are nearly inseparable now! My female Weim was adopted from a puppy mill and had many of the skittish tendencies associated with dogs from puppy mills. She really came out of her shell when I adopted my male Weim. They are now typical Velcro Weims and don’t appreciate when they have to keep track of me instead of just lying on the couch.
I enjoy spending time with my Weims running and hiking in state parks. They are eager traveling companions, as they love to go for car rides!
I am the Director of Research and Applications for AEGIS Food Testing Laboratories and I live in northwestern Iowa.
